Appeal for witnesses

Police are appealing for witnesses after a motorcyclist died in a road traffic collision on the A627 in Middleton at 8.40pm yesterday evening, Tuesday 16th March 2004.
The motorcyclist was heading along the eastbound carriageway of the Slattocks Link on a Suzuki motorbike when he was involved in a collision with the nearside safety barrier just before Stake Hill Road bridge.
The rider sustained fatal injuries.
The Eastbound carriageway of Slattocks Link was closed for approximately three hours whilst accident investigation attended the scene.
No other vehicles were involved.
Anyone who witnessed the accident is asked to contact police at the Motorway Unit on 0161 856 1550.
