A new Creative, Expressive and Performing Arts (C.E.P.A.) competition is launched this week. Titled 'The Bigger Challenge', learners from all years are asked to match the thirty eight terms with their meanings. Entry forms are available to download from our school website or can be obtained from the CEPA Office. The closing date for the competition is Friday, 28 February 2014. For more details, see Mr De Courcey.

Tickets for the forthcoming production, 'G.O.O.S.E.' are now available from the Oldham Coliseum theatre. Students in Year 10 BTEC Drama have been busy rehearsing the piece that is to be staged at the Oldham Coliseum on the evening of Monday 17 March 2014. Tickets cost £3.00. For more details, please see Mr Mvula.

Many thanks to the members of the Arts promotional Network (A.Pro.N.) who joined us for our Arts Award Bronze and Silver Training this week. We hope the day proved to be profitable for you and we look forward to seeing the creative products made by our learners across schools very soon. For more details, contact Mr De Courcey or Mr Wilcock.

Tickets for our forthcoming production 'See See TV' are now available from the C.E.P.A. Office, priced £3.50 (no concessions). The contemporary drama takes place on the evening of Thursday 24 April at 7pm. Tickets can be purchased in advance only directly from school.

Well done to all the learners who came along and auditioned for the forthcoming shows, 'See See TV' and 'Boy Soldiers'. Over forty learners have auditioned and there are only twelve roles so some tough decisions will have to made. Casting news will be made before half term and will be posted on the Drama Room door and the Music Peripatetic Timetable Noticeboard. The standard of auditioning from all students was very impressive. For more details, contact Mr De Courcey or Mr Dalby.

We are delighted that our Senior ‘Company Class’ dance group will be representing Rochdale at the ‘Signatures’ Dance Showcase at the Lowry, Salford Quays in early March. Led by 2Faced Dance Company, the show will feature a range of performances by different groups from around the region. For more details, please contact Ms Wystawnoha.

Letters for our forthcoming Parents Evenings have been issued to the relevant year groups and your child should now be booking appointments for the evening with their teachers. For more information about the process or further details, please contact Ms Barlow in school.
