Woman who jumped from Wheatsheaf roof has died

The woman who jumped off the roof of the Wheatsheaf Shopping Centre this morning (Monday 3 February) has died.

Police confirmed her death and said: “The woman has now died in hospital.”

Police were called to the scene in Rochdale town centre after 10.00am this morning to reports that a woman on the roof of the centre.

Onlookers stated that she had been there since 9:30am.

After jumping from the roof she was taken to hospital with life threatening injuries.

Police, fire and ambulance crews all attended the scene.

Rochdale Online is withholding the woman's identity until police confirm all her relatives have been informed.
