Job success for Emma McHale

Date published: 23 August 2013

Emma McHale from Castleton has successfully turned her life around after completing a challenging personal development programme in Kirkholt.

Emma, 23, was unemployed and low on confidence before joining The Prince’s Trust Team programme run by Groundwork Oldham & Rochdale.

With little confidence, Emma had been unemployed for 12 month and needed extra support to rebuild her life and help her back into employment. With encouragement from the Team leader and other team members, Emma managed to get a better perspective of her life and is feeling much more optimistic about her future.

“I am now working which means I am able to learn to drive and I want to save up to buy a car which will increase my independence. I’m extremely happy with my current employment situation as I had been unemployed for 12 months prior to joining the team programme,” commented Emma.

“I have now got more confidence and received an excellent reference from my team leader. I would recommend the team programme to other people because it helps you improve your life. You will gain skills, improve your CV and more importantly get into a routine of getting up early which is vital to any employer.”

The Prince’s Trust Team programme gives unemployed young people the skills and confidence they need to find a job. Three in four young people on The Prince’s Trust schemes move into work, education or training.

Nicholas Mockridge, Prince’s Trust Team Leader at Groundwork Oldham & Rochdale, added: “It’s great to hear that Emma has got a job and is moving on in her life. The Prince’s Trust Team programme is all about preparing young people for the challenges of life and providing training and support that will give them a kick-start.”
