Matthew Moss exam results

Headteacher of Matthew Moss, Mr Moorhouse, said: "Students and staff at Matthew Moss High School are celebrating another year of excellent GCSE results, with a very strong showing in academic subjects, the school surpassing local and national performance in the government’s Ebacc measure for the second year running.

"Special congratulations go to Ahmad Arien (seven A*,  four A and two C); Georgina Healey (three A*, six A,  one B,  one C); and Sam Holt (two A*,  seven A, two B.

“Everyone within the school community, staff and students, works so hard to ensure that the young people within our care leave with the character, skills and qualifications they need to go forward in life and today is a testament to everyone’s care and resilience with the work. We wish everyone getting results today all the very best as they move forward to the next phase of their education.” 

Andy Raymer, retiring Head, said: "Pleased with how well the students had done especially with all the uncertainties with the exams. Above average results.

"Georgina Healey, two A*, six A, one  B, a C and a distinction, is going on to Rochdale Sixth Form to study art, history and English Literature. 

"Ahmad Arien, seven A*, four A's , a Merit, a Credit and  is going to Holy Cross Sixth Form to study sciences and aims to do medicine."
