Passengers travelling on lines from Victoria to Rochdale encountered delays yesterday afternoon (Thursday 15 August).
Delays came after lines to Bury and Rochdale were suspended due to a points failure at the Queen's Road Depot.
Metrolink ticket holders were able to travel on buses that passed along Metrolink routes.
A spokesperson from Transport for Greater Manchester said: “The Metrolink operator MRDL suspended services for around 40 minutes late last night on the Rochdale line while engineers looked at a fault.
“Passengers were able to use their tickets on the 181, 182 and 59 buses. Metrolink apologises to customers whose journeys were affected.”
