Emergency services attended a property on Dale Street in Milnrow this morning following reports of a suspicious package.

The Police, Fire and Ambulance Services are in attendance at the scene on stand-by.

No casualties have been reported.

3pm Update:

Police have confirmed that they were called to a business on Dale Street in Milnrow at 9.40am on Friday 16 August following reports of a suspicious substance.

Officers from Greater Manchester Police and the Fire and Rescue service attended the scene.

As a precautionary measure, the building was evacuated and a temporary cordon put up around it.

The situation has now concluded and the substance, found in an envelope, was said not to be harmful.

Officers are investigating the substance further.
