Hanaan Hussain unveiled as latest milk carton star

Date published: 17 August 2013

Hanaan Hussain, 11, from Rochdale, has been unveiled as the latest star to appear on one million milk cartons in supermarkets across the UK after he wrote to a dairy to let them know how much he has benefitted from drinking its goats’ milk.

Hanaan has been drinking goats’ milk from Yorkshire-based St Helen’s Farm since he was nine years’ old, after his parents switched from ordinary cows’ milk to the fresh from the farm goats’ milk alternative, it helped to improve his asthma.

“We couldn’t believe the improvement in his breathing after we changed his milk,” said Samina Yasmeen, Hanaan’s mother.

“Hanaan loves the goats’ milk from St Helen’s Farm and has it every night before bed and each morning for breakfast. He doesn’t need to use his inhaler as much anymore and as a family, we all enjoy the milk too, it tastes much lighter than ordinary cows’ milk and we also buy the St Helen’s Farm goats’ milk yogurt, butter and cheese – it’s delicious!

“Hanaan will be so happy to see himself on the cartons of goats’ milk in the supermarkets, he loves the milk and is delighted to be named as the latest carton star.”

Mild-tasting goats’ milk can be a good alternative for people who can’t drink cows’ milk – which is one of the most common causes of intolerance (especially amongst young children) in the UK.

Many people who can’t drink cows’ milk can drink goats’ milk – and claim their intolerance symptoms are reduced or disappear altogether. These symptoms often include eczema, asthma, bloatedness, constipation, digestive discomfort and catarrh.

St Helen’s Farm Sales and Marketing Manager, Mike Hind said: “Unveiling Hanaan as the latest star to appear on our cartons is our way of thanking him for helping to spread the word about our milk.

"We receive many stories from people that have switched to goats’ milk and have found that the symptoms of a number of health conditions have improved so it’s great to hear that goats’ milk is a family favourite in the Hussain household too.”
