Be vigilant
Date published: 16 August 2013
Thieves approached an insecure and unattended transit van on Mount Road, Middleton and reached in through an open window and stole a bag containing a sat nav and keys.
A police spokesman said: "Please keep all unattended vehicles secure as well as remove all valuables from inside."
Thieves used an unknown implement through an open window to 'hook' the keys from the rear door of a property in Heywood.
They then gained entry and conducted a search of the property and made off with the keys.
A police spokesman said: "Please be vigilant. Try not to leave keys in your doors or nearby once they your doors are locked, as people do go to these lengths to gain entry to your property."
