Top marks for RBH Supported Housing Service

Date published: 13 August 2013

Rochdale Boroughwide Housing (RBH) has been re-accredited with the Centre for Housing Support (CHS) Code of Practice.

The CHS Code is a very rigorous assessment of all aspects of the quality of support provision to tenants, including sheltered housing, out-of-hours services, landlord services and customer involvement.

Securing the accreditation required a detailed examination of RBH procedures, the production of a portfolio providing evidence across eight standards, telephone interviews of employees, and finally a full-day inspection which involved employees, and tenants.

Peter Smith, RBH Support and Independence Manager, said: "We’re delighted to have been successfully re-accredited, which demonstrates on a national level that our employees are providing an excellent service – one of only 76 organisations across the whole of England and Wales to achieve this high standard."

RBH has also committed through this process to a "continuous improvement action plan", with progress monitored every 12 months, to ensure that the Supported Housing Team continue to be focused on providing the best possible services and care for all tenants and customers.
