Crazy golf comes to town!
Date published: 10 August 2013
For the month of August, a nine hole crazy golf course has been installed over two levels of the Wheatsheaf Shopping Centre.
Situated in the heart of Rochdale town centre, the crazy golf aims to entertain children through the summer holidays.
Ben Reed from Retail Ready People, who has organised the set up of the golf, said: “There isn’t much leisure on offer in the town centre so it provides something fun and active for the kids.
“It has taken three weeks to build and get everything ready and four days for the installation,” said Ben.
Ben previously held the crazy golf in Manchester just before Christmas and after a successful run decided to bring it to Rochdale.
“There is a lot of empty space at the minute so I spoke to the centre manager and agreed to sort something out,” added Ben.
There is no need to book onto the course, you simply turn up and pay.
“Its just about getting people in and playing and having some fun,” said Ben.
The crazy golf will be open until 7 September.
