Guests at the Bilal Youth Forum fast opening (Ramadan) event
Bilal Youth Forum, in partnership with Bilal Jamia Masjid, hosted a fast opening (Ramadan) event for partners and organisations in Rochdale. Guests included Rochdale GMP, PCSO's Fire Service, local councillors, Rochdale Council of Mosques and faith leaders.
Bilal Youth Forum spokesperson Mohammed Moheeb said: “It's important to celebrate our diversity and share things we have in common and understand each other.
"We look forward to opening our doors throughout the calendar year and inviting everyone to come and learn.
The evening was celebrated with the opening of fast with traditional dates and fruit, followed by a meal together.
Local councillor Sultan Ali emphasised community cohesion and building stronger links with all communities to help breakdown prejudices and stereotypes. He said he looked forward to next year's event and thanked the Bilal Youth Forum for organising the event.
