Rochdale apprentice in the hunt for a national apprenticeship award

Sophie Etheridge has been short-listed for the regional final of the National Apprenticeship Awards 2013.

Sophie, who works at Bowser Supply Limited, will be competing to win the Intermediate Apprentice of the Year at the regional awards ceremony which is organised by the National Apprenticeship Service- to be held at The Co-operative Group HQ on Wednesday 11 September.

Bowser Supply  specialise in manufacturing Bunded Fuel Bowsers and employ Sophie as a Business and Administration Apprentice. 

Sue Price, Divisional Area Director for the National Apprenticeship Service in the North, said: “The National Apprenticeship Awards showcase excellence and offer a fantastic platform for apprentices and employers in our region to share centre stage and gain the recognition they richly deserve for encouraging ambition and enterprise, creating opportunities and supporting development.”

This year the National Apprenticeship Awards received in excess of 1,600 high quality entrants.

All the regional winners will proceed through to a final national judging stage and the highest scoring employer entries will have the additional honour of featuring in the Top 100 Apprenticeship Employers list, which will be published by the National Apprenticeship Service in partnership with City & Guilds. 

The national award winners will be revealed during a ceremony at The Skills Show, at the NEC in Birmingham on 14 November.
