The cleaned up Gracie Fields memorial plaque
The Gracie Fields memorial plaque located on Molesworth Street, that was recently described by locals as a “grot spot”, has been cleaned up.
Rochdale Online reported that locals were unhappy with the state of the plaque and that requests had been made to to the Council to get the plaque and the area cleaned up.
However, the Council said it had no plans to renovate the plaque.
Today, Rochdale Online revisited the site to find that the plaque had been cleaned and refurbished.
It is currently unclear who is responsible for the work.
