Bikers donate money to local charity

Date published: 04 August 2013

MT Heads MCC Bikers have raised £250 for the Association of Dance and Performing Arts (ADPA), a local charity in Rochdale.

The group raised the money through donations received at their bike rally.

Geoff Lion from the group said: “We hope to turn the money into four figures by September.”

The cheque was presented today to Janice Percy who works at the Healey Dell Heritage centre, which also has links to the charity.

Janice said: “What MT Heads has done for the charity is priceless.”

ADPA is a local charity, which aims to inspire, and to improve the immediate and long-term prospects of young people affected by parental offending, domestic violence and severe living conditions.

Geoff added: “The charity is a local organisation for local people.”

Janice and the Healey Dell Heritage Centre often organise fundraising events for the charity. “We also organise parties in the fairy room and money raised can help put some children through summer schools for performing arts,” she said.

The Heritage Centre is also desperate for volunteers to help out.
