Date published: 03 August 2013

Fire fighters from Littleborough fire station held a charity car wash and fun day to raise money for the fire fighters charity today.

The event saw fire fighter clean cars and entertaining local families with face painting, bouncy castles, games and fire engines for children to sit in.

Grant Marsh, organiser of the event said: “I really don’t know how much we want to raise. Anything will do really.”

The fire fighters charity helps to enhance the quality of life for serving and retired fire fighters, fire personnel and their families.

Grant added: “The money we raise will go towards helping injured fire fighters and to help the families of fire fighters who have died.”
