Jump threat caused M62 motorway closure
Date published: 01 August 2013
The M62 was closed in the early hours of this morning due to a man scaling the barrier of a bridge over the motorway between junctions 20 (Rochdale) and 21 (Milnrow) and threatening to jump.
A police spokesman said they received a call at 4.00am and closed the motorway in both directions.
The man was persuaded to come back over the barrier and taken to hospital.
The motorway reopened at 5.40am.
