Middfest 2013

Date published: 28 July 2013

Limefield Park, Middleton played host to the annual Middfest this afternoon and even the rain couldn’t dampen the spirits of those in attendance.

Held from 12pm-4pm the festival saw a number of events and activities on offer to entertain families.

Organiser Andy Lill said: “We were here until 10pm last night setting up and will start taking everything down at about 5pm tonight.”

Andy, who is in charge of Media and PR for Middleton Roundtable said: “We always try and change the main event every year and this year we decided on FMX stunt team.”

The festival also included fairground rides for young children, stalls of local businesses and companies, Morris dancers and a stage for local bands to perform.

Andy added: “We have more bands on stage than usual. We have three local bands performing and a local singer.”

Mayor Peter Rush and Mayoress Monica Rush also attended the festival.

Councillor Rush said: “We are glad to have been invited to Middleton. There is a beautiful atmosphere.

"Things like this need to continue to make people happy.”

Middfest takes organisers a year to plan and put together. Andy added: “It is an ongoing process. As soon as this one finishes we’ll be booking and organising the next one.”

Middfest is funded by a Middleton township grant and is organised by Middleton Roundtable on behalf of the township.
