Heywood houses to be sold to RBH
Date published: 24 July 2013
Land and buildings known as 3, 5, 7 and 9 Heady Hill Road, Heywood are to be transferred to Rochdale Boroughwide Housing, or an alternative registered social landlord should it not prove possible to reach agreement with RBH, in order to "provide sustainable management for the properties and secure tenancies for the current tenants."
The transfer to a registered social landlord is deemed to be the most appropriate course of action as the Council no longer manages residential properties and it was "not possible to sell the properties for owner occupation due to the current market conditions."
Rochdale Boroughwide Housing is the preferable registered social landlord as RBH owns and manages the remainder of properties in the immediate area.
The value of the negotiated value of the properties is to be agreed by the portfolio holders for Finance and Strengthening Communities and Housing in conjunction with the Council Service Directors for Finance and Economy and Environment.
