Wardle High performing arts students in Calella, Spain
Wardle High performing arts students left for Calella in Spain on Friday 12 July to spend several days performing a number of concerts in the glorious sunshine.
Students from brass, woodwind and folk groups attended the trip as well as an Irish dancer. Accompanied by several members of staff, the band performed in three concerts in Pineda de Mar, Calella and Lloret de Mar.
Aside from performing, the students embraced the culture of Barcelona and went sight-seeing in the city. They also visited Waterworld and did a full day of water activities.
Janet Emsley, Director of Performing Arts, accompanied the pupils on the trip and said: “It was a brilliant tour. The students were well behaved, played beautifully and had appreciative audiences. This was a just reward for all the hard work the children put into their performances.”
