Canadian Family joins REAG for clean up

Date published: 20 July 2013

A family from Canada joined Rochdale Environmental Action Group to clean up Castlemere Street, King Street East and South.

REAG is campaigning to improve the environment in the Borough and asking the Rochdale Council to take immediate steps to improve the condition of the derelict buildings and open areas which are being used for fly tipping.

A spokesman said: "We are pleased that the Local Authority has been given the funding for improving the derelict properties in the Borough.

"Milkstone and Deeplish area is the gateway to the Borough for people using trains and Metrolink. In the light of the various physical developments in the Rochdale Town Centre, this area does not present a positive image of the Town. REAG would like to see the improvement in and around the Town Centre."
