St Andrew's, Dearnley

Date published: 17 July 2013

From October 7 our vicar, the Rev Sharon Jones, will be combining her work at St Andrew's with that of priest-in-charge of the parish of Wardle and Smallbridge.

This will mean a change of worship times on Sundays at St Andrew's, starting on September 8.

There will be no 8am Eucharist from that date and the Sung Eucharist will start at 9.30am every Sunday, half an hour earlier than it is now.

On the second and fourth Sundays of each month Sharon will also celebrate the Eucharist at Wardle Village Church, starting at 11am.

The Vicar's garden party last Saturday was a huge success in glorious sunshine, everyone enjoying themselves and helping to raise nearly £400.

There will be no issue of the 'The Fisherman', our monthly church magazine, in August but publication will resume in early September.

As the magazine now contains colour, the editor, Jonathan Coomer, would like to use more pictures which can be submitted, with articles, notices and other content to: standrew.fisherman@yahoo.co.uk

Don't forget . . .

* The Deanery Quiet Day in Kearsley on Saturday, September 7

* Our parish trip to Coventry Cathedral on Saturday, September 21

* Our holiday prize draw on Sunday, September 29 (get your tickets from Ken Harper)

We celebrate Holy Matrimony twice on Saturday, (July 20), at noon and at 3pm, and on Sunday we have Eucharist at 8am and Sung Eucharist at 10am.

Parish rota: lay assistants, J Paterson, H Walker; readers, P Shrigley, J Mills; Intercessions, W Foote; sidespersons, C Giles, R Fuller; refreshments, Ada, Gillian K, Pam P.
