Cherwell Centre Summer Fayre

The Cherwell Centre held a summer fayre and car boot sale today (Saturday 12 July) to raise funds for their service users and farm.
The fayre included a variety of car boots to rummage through, sweet stalls, games and a funfair for the children to enjoy.
Adeline Dallman, a support officer for people with learning difficulties and organiser of the event said: “We hope to raise £400-£500 and from the responses,we are hoping for about 200 people to show up.”
The centre on Cherwell Avenue, Rochdale also houses a farm and Adeline added: “A lot of our service users help with the farm. It gives them some worth to their job.”
The farm is home to pigs, rabbits, goat’s, guinea pigs and hedgehogs.
Mayor Peter Rush and Mayoress Monica Rush attended the event. Mayor Rush said: “We are so pleased to support these types of events. I give my compliments to all of the hard working staff and I am overjoyed that this has happened in Heywood.”
