Theft from Norden Cricket Club dressing room

Date published: 12 July 2013

Players from Norden Cricket Club were shocked to find some of their personal possessions had been stolen, as they returned from the field of play.

The incident is believed to have taken place between 4.45pm and 7.15pm on Sunday 30 June 2013.

Stolen items included mobile phones and wallets.

PC Laura Schofield, investigating the case, said: "Norden Cricket Club is a family based community club, where people come together to socialise and enjoy the game of cricket.

"This is a rather unusual incident to happen on a busy Sunday afternoon.

"It is very sad that someone would stoop this low to steal the player’s possessions as they were out on the field playing a game of cricket.

"I would appeal to anyone who either witnessed the incident or knows who may be involved to come forward and help us catch those responsible".

Anyone with information is asked to call police on either 101, or our office 0161 856 4052, or the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
