New heritage room opens
Date published: 10 July 2013
Healey Dell Heritage Centre & Tea Rooms new heritage room will be officially opened on Saturday 20 July.
The new room will display all of the Edwardian splendour of the upper-floor tea-rooms including large sparkling chandeliers, new period decor, beautiful curtains and a number of other fine, finishing touches, meaning visitors with limited mobility can now enjoy the same Healey Dell Heritage Centre ambiance and the experience of stepping back in time whilst browsing exhibitions and enjoying traditional cream teas served from vintage bone-china - all on the ground floor.
Having already carried conversion works enabling wheelchair access to rooms and facilities, the Centre has taken delivery of a new access ramp to ensure those with wheelchairs or motorised scooters can access the facilities with ease.
Other events taking place will include live music, the launch of a brand new photography exhibition and a weekend packed with fun, family events and activities.
