Free family fun day at Middleton Arena
The Middleton Big Games will be returning for 2013 with a free family fun day at Middleton Arena on Saturday 13 July from 11am to 3pm.
Last year over 5,000 people took part in the Big Games boroughwide during the Olympic celebrations. Link4Life is building on this as part of the London 2012 local legacy to promote local clubs and groups and to get more people more active.
Designed with children and families in mind, activities include a climbing tower, mountain bike track, golf roadshow, lifesaving skills, swimming and aqua sports, racquets, arts and crafts, face painting, sports and games. All Big Games activities are free. Local groups will be performing on the stage throughout the day and the Arena's café is also available.
Link4Life's Event Co-ordinator, Donna Livesey said: "The Big Games aims to help people find out more about the wide range of resources on their doorstep and how they can get to use them on a regular basis. We're inviting everyone to come along ready to have fun and try as many activities as possible during the day."
To make the most of the day, Arena advice is to wear sports or casual clothes with trainers or flat shoes and socks and to bring swimming costumes, towel and locker money. All other equipment is provided.
