Many thanks to all the parents, friends and families who joined us for our premiere drama, 'Furi: A Viking Story' this week. The show featured two matinee performances for primary schools and was led by a talented cast of nine students from across the years. The show was followed by a question and answer session in which the rehearsal process and themes of the drama were discussed.

We are delighted to learn that former student Adam Downey has recently earned a place at the prestigious and world-renowned 'Italia Conti' Acting School in London. Adam beat off hundreds of other applicants to earn a place and we wish him every success. We expect to see him on our television screens soon.

Ms Wystawnoha's CALL class led the way with their final showcase performance of their 'Healthy Eating' drama this week at Gracie Fields Theatre. The performance is the culmination of work with Tracing Steps Theatre Company and we were delighted with the standard of work produced. Congratulations to all involved in the project.

Ms Williams' CALL class welcome 'Just Poets' into school this week as they lead a creative writing workshop to explore the topic of writing for a range of purposes. The two hour workshop will feature a range of hands-on activities and discussion opportunities. Many thanks to Ms Williams for organising the event.

We are still looking to collect reply forms from Year 6 learners for our forthcoming Summer School. If you have been issued with a letter and have not yet returned it, then please send it to us at the earliest opportunity. For more details, contact Mr Mvula or Mr De Courcey.

Our ongoing building work has stalled the possibility of running the sponsored walk this year and we have sent letters home to all families. Any monies and reply forms should be returned very shortly. For more details, please contact Ms Wood.

Year 6 families who are joining us in September should have received information regarding changes to the school uniform in their carrier bag that was issued on Induction Day. If you are in any doubt as to uniform requirements as we move to blazers with a new logo and a new sports kit, then please contact Ms Baron or Ms Barlow at the earliest opportunity.

Photographs from our highly successful Prom Night are now available to view on our school website. The evening was a huge triumph and we were tremendously proud of our young people as we say goodbye to them until August and results day.

Congratulations to Sanaa Amir, Annapurnima Vimalkumar and Aamnah Hanif as they are the winners of the Big CEPA Wordsearch Competition. The three learners from Years 7, 8 and 10 successfully found 50 Arts specific words and researched the meaning of eight difficult arts terms. Each winner received a certificate and chocolate prize!

Many thanks to the helpers of Ms Masood's 'Fairtrade' Stall as they have helped to raise a substantial amount through sales of fairtrade items at breaktimes and lunchtimes over the past week. The stall is helping to raise awareness of global issues and provide us all with some great food too. Well done to all students who have supported the stall.
