2J81 at Heywood Station - East Lancashire Railway Summer Diesel Gala
Diesel train enthusiasts from Heywood and beyond attended the East Lancashire Railway Summer Diesel Gala today (On Saturday 6 July) - part of a three day gala.
A spokesperson from East Lancashire Railway said: “We do two events every year, the summer one is always popular due to a higher chance of the sun being out.
“These galas will obviously appeal to train enthusiasts but through our marketing we try and appeal to other members of the general public.”
Edward, who travelled from Rochdale to see the trains, said: “I have always been interested in trains since I was little.
"Events such as this are great because these are trains which have been out of use for a long period of time.”
