St John’s RC Primary School
A Successful Moving up day
On Tuesday, 2 July children spent some time in their new classes and met their new teachers and support staff. This was an enjoyable and exciting opportunity for all children.
Class 6 attended their chosen school and spent the day with fellow pupils.
Also on 2 July, we held a welcome day for children moving from our current nursery who are moving into Reception class.
School disco
Thursday, 4 July saw a very successful school disco in our school hall. Pupils, families and staff members all participated in disco and dance. Thank you to everyone who could make it!
Weather Alerts
It is expected that the weather is going to get warmer over the next few days. Please ensure that children apply protective sum cream before they arrive to school. Please also ensure that sun hats are sent in with children in case they are needed.
School trip
To enhance and supplement their learning about Vikings, Class 5 visited the Jorvick Viking Centre in York on Thursday 4th July 2013. The day was pleasantly spent; an opportunity for our pupils to encounter authentic Vikings!!
Retirement Mass
There will be a Mass in St. John’s Church at 9.30am on Wednesday 17 July to celebrate the retirement of Mrs Duffy, Mrs Orford and Mrs Kecyk. Please come along to join us in wishing them a long and happy retirement.

12 July Sport and Citizenship awards ceremony 1.30pm
17 July Retirement Mass 9.30am – St Johns Church
17 July Leavers assembly 1.30pm
18 July End of term assembly and presentations
Highest attendance award went to Class 6 for 100% attendance- week ending 28th June 2013.
