Wasp caused car crash in Newhey

Date published: 05 July 2013

A man driving a grey Vauxhall Astra was very fortunate not to be injured when he mounted the pavement and ploughed his car into a bollard this lunchtime.

An eyewitness to the accident on Huddersfield Road, Newhey, said both front airbags were deployed.

The driver explained he lost control due to a wasp being in his car.

A police spokesman has confirmed no one was injured.
