Many thanks to all the Year 6 learners who joined us this week for our Induction Day. We had a brilliant time with you and we look forward to the great start we know you will make in September as our new Year 7 learners.

Pupils received a range of information sheets and forms. It would help us if any of those forms could be returned to school via our school reception or older brothers and sisters before the end of the Summer term. If you have any further questions about uniform or other general enquiries, please contact Ms Barlow or Ms Baron directly at school.

Many thanks to the Royal Exchange Theatre Company who joined us in school this week for a special workshop with our Year 9 Drama learners Titled ‘Behind The Scenes’, the session enabled learners to consider aspects of design for performance. Many thanks to Danny from the Royal Exchange for joining us for such a great time.

Well done to all our year 11 learners who joined us for our Year 11 Prom at The Village Hotel, Bury this week. We never cease to be amazed by how grown up our learners look on this evening and it was lovely to see so many of our students relaxed after the intense exam season. Many thanks to all the staff and students who made the evening so special.

Letters for our Sponsored Walk have been handed to all our learners and we appreciate a prompt reply. Completed forms should be handed in to your group tutors as quickly as possible.

Tickets for our ‘Furi: A Viking Tale’ performance are available from school. The show takes place this Thursday evening at 7pm in our Drama Studio and tickets are priced at £3.00 (no concessions). The show is an original piece set in 9th century Britain and features ghosts and magic! We hope that people can join us and we look forward to seeing you on the evening. Please note that tickets can only be bought in advance. Well done to the cast who have rehearsed so hard over the past few weeks to deliver the show to such a high standard.

We are delighted to welcome ‘Just Poets’ into Ms Williams’ CALL class this week as they deliver a short workshop on creative writing and writing for a range of purposes. The two hour session should leave us with a class of inspired and inspiring writers.

Letters for our forthcoming CEPA Whitehaven visit are available from the CEPA Office. Please see Mr De Courcey for more details.
