Hamer Community Primary School

Key Stage 1 had an amazing time at Blackpool Circus on Tuesday this week. Thank you to all the parents who helped with the visit, they had as much fun as the children at the Tower.

The Mobile Farm who visited the Foundation Unit on Wednesday was greeted with enthusiasm. We had a calf, a sheep and lambs, a goat and twin kids and various poultry. The children had lots of opportunities to view and pet the animals and were able to make lots of observations and comparisons with the different animals on show. The farm was also visited by a group of children from Springside School and by our Eco Team

Recently as part of their RE Curriculum, Year 5 children visited the Neeli Mosque. Our children represented our school with excellent behaviour and good manners at all times.

Last weeks Bags 2 School collection was again successful so thank you to everyone who participated in delivering unwanted items in the bags provided. We have been informed that we have raised £200.00 on this occasion , this will be passed to the school council to decide how to spend in school on something to enhance our children’s teaching and learning experience. Also the Citizens of the week ending 28 June was awarded to the School Council for helping to organise Bag 2 School.

The new reception class will be coming in to school on Monday 1 July 1.30 to 2.30pm. Parents are all welcome as you and your child will have an opportunity to meet the staff, receive information on various aspects of school life and we can provide you with answers to any questions you may have in relation to your child starting school.

All parents of Year 6 children are invited to attend a Growing up and Relationships briefing session on Monday either at 9am or 3pm. This is your opportunity to look at the information which will be provided to your child on the subject of growing up and relationships. This is part of the children’s science curriculum and will help in their knowledge and understanding of this subject as they move towards their next academic year in senior school. If you have any concerns please use this opportunity to view the information and speak to Mrs Hoyle or Mrs Coward who will host the drop in sessions.
