Moving up day

On Tuesday, 2 July the whole school will move up into their prospective classes for the day. This will give children the chance to meet with their teachers and classroom assistants before they join them in September.

Class 6 will attend their chosen school and spend the day with fellow pupils.

Also on 2 July, we will be holding a welcome day for children moving from nursery class into Reception class.

School disco

Thursday, 4 July will be our School Disco event. The disco will start at 6pm to 8pm and all children must be accompanied by a responsible adult. Refreshments will be on sale throughout the evening and admission will be £1 per person.

Harar fundraising events

Fundraising for Harar during last week raised £220. This was raised by holding a coffee and cake sale plus a World cup competition, a shoot out and St. John’s has got talent.

After their investigation into where food originates and the cost of buying food, class 6 bought ten dozen locally laid eggs, plus other ingredients as locally grown as possible and made cakes to sell to staff members, pupils and parents.

The children made their own marketing posters and laid out the cakes on stalls to sell to unsuspecting customers. The cakes were truly delicious and the children should be very proud of themselves. The amount they raised has not yet been counted.

All donations will be counted and presented to Professor Mark McGurk 28 June when he visits with his colleague Jonathan Crown.

School trip

Our Nursery class visited Legoland on Tuesday, 25 June. A fantastic time was had by all.

Thought and Proverb for the week

Thought

When I am sad, I can do something that makes me happy. I have hundreds of things that can make me happy and I do not need others to give them to me. I can give them to myself.

Proverb

A fool and his money are soon parted.
