Honresfeld gets garden makeover

Date published: 25 June 2013

Volunteers from The Co-operative Banking Group have cleared the pathways in the grounds of Disability charity Leonard Cheshire Disability’s Honresfeld in Littleborough to allow for easier access for service users to enjoy the gardens.

The Co-op also donated flower pots, bedding plants and two tonne of gravel to lay on the paths.

Danielle Turner, Volunteer Coordinator and Activities Enabler at Leonard Cheshire Disability, Honresfeld commented: “It’s incredible to see the transformation of the gardens and it will make a huge difference to the service users at Honresfeld.

"I would like to say a big thank you to the whole team – they worked really hard and have done a wonderful job.”

The volunteers from The Co-operative Group commented on how much they enjoyed themselves, whilst giving something back to the community.

Leonard Cheshire Disability’s, Honresfeld is calling on eager volunteers to support its work with disabled people in Littleborrough.

Whether someone has a few hours each week or month to spare, Leonard Cheshire Disability welcomes volunteers who are seeking an enjoyable and rewarding experience.
