Summer-time and recycling is eeeazy...

Date published: 25 June 2013

Whether you’re watching an outdoor event this summer, having a barbeque, a picnic, or just relaxing at home in the garden or local park, Recycle for Greater Manchester would like to remind local residents to spare a thought for the environment and consider reducing and recycling the waste they produce.

You can recycle all your cans and tins, glass bottles and jars, tin foil, aerosols and plastic bottles in your mixed recycling bin. Whilst your paper and card recycling bin accepts empty food and drink cartons, paper, cards, magazines, and catalogues.

Consider taking reusable crockery with you on a picnic rather than use disposable knives, forks. Buy loose fruit, and vegetables rather than food in disposable packaging – it’s cheaper. You could pack food in re-usable containers, they help to keep things fresher for longer.

When you’re walking on sunshine this summer, remember to consider the right option for your rubbish.
