David Smithard, President of Rochdale Rotary Club presents a cheque Denis Skelton, Coordinator for the Rochdale Petrus Community Charity
David Smithard, President of Rochdale Rotary Club has presented a cheque for £1,500 pounds to Denis Skelton, co-ordinator for the Rochdale Petrus Community Charity.
Mr Smithard said: “The Rotary Club has had a long association with Petrus and we are all very impressed with the Hub Day Centre and other facilities for helping the homeless in the borough.
“The money has come from various Rotary fundraising projects over the last year. We hope it will help towards supporting activities in our community.”
Mr Skelton said: “The main aim of the Hub Day Centre is to give help to those that are homeless or in some cases to give people financial advice and stop them being removed from their homes.
“The money will also be a great help to the Green Gym, this involves people taking pride in their environment and helping them with their employment prospects.”
Mr Skelton thanked Mr Smithard and the club for the donation and also for the support in these times of financial cutbacks.
