Ascot Ladies Day in aid of Springhill Hospice

Date published: 25 June 2013

The Ascot Ladies Day event at The Peacock Room Restaurant, Bamford saw £2,800 raised in aid of Springhill Hospice.

Over 70 ladies threw themselves into the spirit of the day, donning hats and raising funds for the local charity.

Local family business, the Deckers Group hosted the event, which kicked off with a bubbles and red carpet reception, followed by a three course lunch, token betting and racing shown on large screens, live from Ascot.

Afternoon tea and live entertainment capped off the day.

David Bowman Powell, Peacock Room Manager said: “It's just been fantastic. The ladies looked stunning, with a great party atmosphere all here enjoying themselves and supporting such an important charity.”

The charity auction was made possible by donations of prizes from local businesses, such as Harris the Florists, Dominic Gregory and Norden Studio, with the first prize being donated by the Deckers Group, which was a private dining experience in the award winning Peacock Room Restaurant.

Hospice fundraisers Viv Thompson said: “We have had such a wonderful day and raised a substantial amount of money for the Hospice.

"It is really important for us to thank the Deckers Group and the Peacock Room for putting on this event as well as the local businesses who have supported it.”
