Fun and games at Truffet Park, me hearties!

Date published: 24 June 2013

Middleton children and their families are being invited along to a fun filled morning of activity and adventure at Truffet Park.

The annual event sees Langley children’s centres team up with local schools, private day care providers and play groups to provide a morning offering a range of hands on activities.

This year’s theme is pirates and princesses and there will be a range of craft activities like making boats, flags, pirate hats and princess tiaras making, along with biscuit decorating.

Families can take part in pond dipping with the park ranger, story time with Book Start librarian Irene Peachy and in keeping with the buccaneer theme, a treasure hunt.
Fun day coordinator, Sarah Byrne, said: “We’d encourage children and families of all ages to get down to Truffet Park as there are loads of really interest events lined up to keep everyone occupied.

“Our special events and fun days are always really popular, with families enjoying the activities. It’s great for so many partners involved in Early Years and Parents to come together as some children will be starting nursery, play group or moving on to school get an opportunity to see their new teachers”

There will also be a member of staff from the dental health team there along with the door step project bus and the Heywood fire service with one of their fire engines.
Once activities have finished everyone will come together to sit and eat a picnic. All children will receive a medal for attending the event.

The annual event is in Truffet Park, Langley, Middleton on Tuesday 25 June at 10.00am – 12.00pm.
