Metro Moneywise donation to Mayor’s Fund
Date published: 24 June 2013

The Mayor and Mayoress of Rochdale, Peter and Monica Rush, receive a cheque from Metro Moneywise Treasurer John Jones and Marketing Officer Jan Rafter
The borough’s new Mayor, Cllr Peter Rush, was recently presented with a cheque for £200 from local credit union Metro Moneywise.
The money will go towards the Mayor’s Charity Fund, which this year is raising money for the Rochdale branch of Parkinson’s UK and local charities at the Mayor’s discretion.
Metro Moneywise was established in 1990 and currently has over 3,300 members. Membership is open to all employees of Rochdale Borough Council and its partners, Rochdale Boroughwide Housing, NHS Pennine Acute and NHS Pennine Care Foundation, Hopwood Hall College, Greater Manchester Probation Services and Rochdale Sixth Form College.
Staff can save direct from their wages and also obtain low cost loans at competitive rates.
As Metro Moneywise is a co-operative, all members are also automatically the union’s shareholders, meaning that all profits are paid directly to the members as a dividend after reserves and operating costs are met.
Any eligible employee who is interested in joining Metro Moneywise can do so by visiting https://www.metromoneywise.co.uk/
Anyone who would like to make a donation to The Mayor’s Charity Fund can do so by making a cheque payable to ‘The Mayor’s charity’ and sending to this address:
