Hydraulic cutting equipment was used to free the women from the car
Two women who suffered spinal injuries in a crash on the M62 had a "lucky escape", firefighters said.
Cutting equipment was used to free the women following the crash at junction 20, Rochdale, at about 06:30am.
The convertible Mini Cooper had hit standing water and aquaplaned before overturning on the embankment and stopping next to a metal post.
Station Manager Pete Buckley said drivers should be careful of standing water.
