Metrolink traffic changes in Rochdale town centre
Date published: 22 June 2013
People travelling through Rochdale town centre will see some changes to the traffic management from Monday, as work progresses on the new Metrolink line.
Metrolink contractors are now ready to construct traffic islands in Moore Street, near the junction with Drake Street.
In order to carry out this work, Moore Street will be temporarily closed to traffic from Monday 24 June, for approximately two weeks but School Lane will reopen to traffic on this date.
Local traffic diversions will be clearly signposted during the closure. Pedestrian access along Moore Street will be maintained at all times.
The Rochdale town centre stop is due to open in 2014.
