Children get into art
Date published: 15 June 2013
Children have been learning about about screen printing and ceramics as part of Healey Primary School’s Gifted and Talented Art Programme with the help of Hopwood Hall College.
The programme has been set up to help pupils from year’s three to six, develop valuable skills within these specialised areas of art and design and further develop the children’s budding talent.
Hopwood Hall College’s Art and Design Department has been supporting the programme. The College’s staff worked with the children, explaining each process to them thoroughly and helping them develop in their abilities, encouraging them to use more advanced techniques and processes. Staff at the College commented on how lovely it was to see such enthusiasm from the children.
A spokesperson for the College said: "The children certainly showed they have bags of talent, producing delightful pieces of art, including printed t-shirts and ceramic figures which are now proudly on display in the main hall of the school."
