Hollingworth Lake Activity Club Litter Pick
Hollingworth Lake Activity Club took part in a litter pick around the lake from their canoes and kayaks.
Six members of the club are enrolled on the British Canoe Union Cadet Leader Scheme where they work towards coaching qualifications by delivering coaching sessions to younger club members.
Matthew Roberts organised the event to complete the project section for his Cadet Leader logbook. He designed a poster to let all the group members know, gave the group a thorough briefing about the event and supplied prizes for the boat who collected the most litter.
About 10 bin bags of litter were collected and seperated into recyclable and non-recyclable items.
Following the success of the event, all the other Cadet Leaders are planning to organise similar events in the future.
