Town Centre Chaplaincy in its second year

Date published: 16 June 2013

The Town Centre Chaplaincy is now in its second year and Margaret Smith is working full-time.

Below are some of the areas of involvement of the Chaplaincy and also one or two ways people might add their support.

  • “The Multifaith Room” in the new council offices at Number One Riverside is now up and running.
  • There will be weekly prayers every Thursday 12.30 – 1.30pm. If you are an outside visitor to the offices, just report to reception and the chaplain will be called to collect you and take you to the room. All are welcome, especially on the first Thursday of each month.
  • Margaret Smith, Town Centre Chaplain for Rochdale is presently working towards buying a set of bibles and a £10 donation (or any amount, large or small) would be gratefully received and appreciated from anyone who feels able to help. Any cheques made payable to “Rochdale Town Centre Chaplaincy” please and may be sent to the chaplain at the above address.
  • Volunteer Chaplains: This would involve being available, as part of the team, to visit a number of shops. Members of the team would also help out putting on different events through out the year. Working as part of a team means this work need not necessarily involve too much of your time.
  • For more information or to see if this is for you, call the chaplain on 07845 767 591.
  • “Healing On The Street” (HOTS): Town Centre Chaplaincy is also developing a HOTS team and it is not too late to get involved. Training will be provided. For more information call 07845 767 591.
