Cray clean up

Date published: 14 June 2013

The Cray area in Milnrow is looking brighter this week after residents joined forces with Rochdale Boroughwide Housing (RBH) employees for a clean-up day.

Residents took advantage of skips placed at seven locations, and over 60 tonnes of bulky waste was removed throughout the day.

In addition, residents were able to access information and tips on energy-saving and financial advice, and RBH caretakers joined with employee volunteers to conduct a litter-pick across the neighbourhood.

Amanda Beeley, RBH Neighbourhood Officer, said: “We were delighted that so many tenant and employee volunteersrolled up their sleeves to carry out the clean-up. Everyone worked together, and it was another valuable opportunity to listen to the views of local residents about the issues that matter to them in their neighbourhood.”

The action day formed part of the RBH 'Our Place' initiative, which brings together employees and residents to address the issues that are important in our communities.

The Cray is also set to benefit from £2,500 of RBH community funding for summer holiday activities for young people, provided through the 'Our Choice' Dragon’s Den event.
