St Cuthbert's Business and Enterprise College

Date published: 12 June 2013

Year 11 students celebrated their Leavers’ Mass on Thursday – it was a very spiritual occasion giving friends the chance to celebrate all of their successes over the last five years.

Dates for the diary:

Year 6 Intake Evening – Tuesday 25 June;

Year 6 Induction Day – Tuesday 2 July (Intake Day for children from non-partner primary schools - 21st June).

This week’s theme was Mass and The Mill Hill Fathers and our Enterprise capability was CREATIVITY. This half-term’s focus for Year 7 is REFLECTION AND EVALUATION.

This week’s Saint of the Week is St Anthony of Padua, Doctor of the Church, who’s feast we celebrated on 13 June. Although born in Portugal, he is best known for his work in France and Italy, converting heretics who spread lies about the Christian Faith. St Anthony was very a skilled and gentle teacher, explaining matters of faith so simply so that everyone could understand. He died in Padua in 1231 aged 36. He is known as the finder of lost articles and students were reminded to pray to St Anthony whenever they need help to find what they are searching for both in a practical or spiritual sense.
