We welcome BAE Systems and the RAF into school this week as they perform a roadshow presentation to all our Year 7 learners. The students will gain an insight into possible Science and Engineering career routes as well as learning about life in the RAF. Many thanks to the Theatre Company and staff and students for a lovely event. Students were asked to return a photo permission letter promptly. Please ensure that all learners return this letter as soon as possible.

Last week saw the launch of our new 'Big CEPA Wordsearch' Competition which is open to all years. The competition has proved to be a real challenge and the wordsearch is notoriously difficult. Completed entries should be returned to the CEPA Office at breaktimes or lunchtimes before the deadline of the 28 of June. Spare copies of the entry form can be obtained from Mr Morley or Mr De Courcey.

Tickets for our forthcoming show, 'Furi: A Viking Story' are available from the CEPA Office at breaktimes, lunchtimes or after school. The show takes place in our Drama Studio on Thursday, 11 of July 2013 at 7pm. Places are strictly limited and tickets can only be bought in advance. For more details, please contact Mr De Courcey.

Please would all Year 11 students check their school email and the regular post for details of your Functional Skills ICT Exam on Thursday 20 June 2013. A letter with your individual level of entry, seat number and room details has been sent to all students who are entered for this exam and also an email to your school account.

Letters and flyers for our forthcoming CALL 'New Ghosts' Exhibition have been issued this week to all year 7 learners and their families. Letters for our exciting CALL Summer School, titled 'Amazing Discoveries' have been issued to selected primary learners who will join us next year. The week long Summer School features visits to York to the National Rail Museum and Yorkshire Museum and a visit to Hull to see 'The Deep' Submarium and to visit the Museums Quarter. The summer school is entirely free and open to 40 Year 6 learners joining us in September. It provides a great opportunity for our new learners to get to know our staff a little better and ease any anxieties about starting a new school. For more details, contact Mr Mvula or Mr De Courcey. If you receive a letter inviting you to attend the summer School then please help us by returning the reply forms as soon as possible.

Many thanks to all the students, staff, families and friends who helped to make our Annual Awards Evening such a great success this week. It is a real testament to our learners that there were so many students in receipt of awards and the evening was an enjoyable occasion for all. Well done to everyone who took part.
