Hamer Community Primary School

Now that Summer has arrived, please ensure that your child has sufficient sun protection cream on them before they come to school. This needs to be applied at home and not in school. In addition, should you wish to provide your child with a hat or cap to protect their heads, necks and faces whilst they are playing outside, this is very much encouraged. The children will however, be expected to take these off inside school. Water bottles are also very much encouraged as children have access to water to keep them refreshed throughout the day. If girls are wearing sandals, please do ensure that these constitute sensible footwear. Flips flops and sandals with heals are not suitable if we are to ensure that the children stay safe. Thank you.

Thank you all for taking the time to ensure that non-emergency appointments are made out of school hours. This is having a significant impact on ensuring that your child maximizes his or her learning time in school. In the event of, for example, unavoidable hospital appointments we do need to know in advance to enable the Admin team in Reception to plan for your child to be collected at the specified time. Please also ensure that a copy of the letter/appointment card is provided. The school does need to know in advance to avoid any unnecessary conflict in the Reception area. Please note that siblings, friends and neighbours will not be released early, only the child that has the appointment. Thank you.

In response to parents’ requests, we have organized keep fit sessions on a Thursday morning from 9.00am. Please ensure you attend if you expressed an interest in order that they can continue to run. We look forward to seeing you every Thursday.

The children in the Foundation Unit enjoyed a fantastic learning experience on Thursday 6 June at the Bury Transport Museum and the East Lancs Railway. The children have not stopped talking about what an exciting time they had!! Thank you once again to those of you who gave up your time as a parent volunteer to support us. Also the children in the Foundation Unit were awarded the Citizens of the week for their super behaviour whilst on the trip.
