Agilisys moves into Number One Riverside

Date published: 02 June 2013

Rochdale Council customer contact centre contractor Agilisys has moved to the Council's new building, Number One Riverside.

Agilisys join the NHS, Rochdale Development Agency (RDA) and Link4Life in co-locating with the Council in the new building.

Shelley Taylor, Customer Service Manager at Agilisys, said: “Our move into Number One Riverside is an important step in a process that began six years ago when we established a contact centre for residents of the borough and we’re excited about the opportunity to build this into an exemplar of excellent customer service delivery in the Greater Manchester area.

"We see our presence in Number One Riverside as the ideal way to establish even closer ties with the functions we serve and ensure that our customers are getting the most efficient service possible.”

John Hudson, Chief Executive of RDA, added: “The new building sets the standard for the regeneration of the town centre and demonstrates that change really is happening.

"Number One Riverside along with the new transport interchange which will open this autumn, will transform the town centre landscape forever and give people a great sense of the changes taking place. We have been based in the new building for a few weeks now and it’s proving really beneficial to be in the same place as the Council and other partners who we meet with regularly.

"The building has a great atmosphere and everyone who has visited us here has been impressed by Number One Riverside as well as all the overall regeneration taking place in the town centre.”

Emma Pendlebury, HR Manager at Link4Life commented: “The co-location of all partners under one roof is proving to be of real benefit in terms of joint working and sharing of services. We are delighted to be working in a building that is also so well used by members of the public.”

Number One Riverside consolidates numerous council buildings into one modern, low energy building, and will save the authority approximately £1 million each year for over 40 years through the closure of old and inefficient buildings. Approximately 2000 members of staff use the building on a daily basis.

Rochdale Council Deputy Leader, Councillor Peter Williams, said: “Number One Riverside provides the Council and its partners with the ideal environment to innovate, cooperate and communicate with one another.

"It’s more important than ever that the Council and all its partners pull together for the benefit of the borough and feedback shows that being based in the same building is really helping people work together more easily.”

Number One Riverside houses a public library, council customer service centre and offices. The building also includes a coffee shop and has a unit for future restaurant use.
