Hamer Community Primary School

Date published: 24 May 2013

Our children in Year 3 and Year 4 visited ‘Cadbury World’ in Birmingham on Thursday 23 May as part of their IPC topic “Chocolate.” They had a fantastic time hearing all about chocolate and even brought some back to school with them! Thank you to those parents who came along to help. If you would like to volunteer to support us in the future, please do make sure you talk to us – we are always so grateful of your ongoing support!

The Citizens of the week for the week ending 24 May 2013 has been awarded to Lower Key Stage 2, Mrs Casey’s, Mrs Smith’s and Mrs Connolly’s classes for having excellent behaviour on the trip to Cadbury’s World and representing school in a positive way. Well done.

The Foundation Unit would like to thank Parents and Guardians for supporting the unit by dressing the children in summer clothes (despite the weather!) at the recent Exit Point and Assembly. It was absolutely fantastic to see so many of you. This means so much to us and your child.

As you know, the children will be visiting Bury Transport Museum & Steam Train after Half Term. Many of you have volunteered to support us and come along to help. As ever we will put names in a hat to ensure this is fair.

Further to the success of the last Bag 2 School collection. We will again be asking for donations of any old clothes, curtains, towels etc. for another collection at the end of June. Our school Council will decide what we will spend our collection money on and will report back to the school on how this will benefit everyones ‘ learning. Further details will follow after Half Term.

Letters were sent home this week requesting expressions of interest from community members who may wish to join our Governing Body at Hamer. Any nominations must be received back to school by 12 noon on Monday 3 June so that they can be considered by the current Governors at the next full meeting on 18 June. If elected, this person will be able to contribute to the effective governance and success of our school.
